Hello, this is Mina. I have returned to the U.S. after completing my summer ministry in Korea and Thailand.
It truly felt like the longest summer ever! :)
However, thanks to the prayers of my fellow ministry partners, the journey of this mission did not feel lonely.
I want to show my appreciation once again for your continued support.
I have returned to Atlanta to begin local campus ministry.
During the summer, I successfully completed MPD (Ministry Partner Development) and
raised the minimum amount needed to start the ministry.
From this semester, I am able to serve as a Full-time staff. It is all by God's grace.
The new semester has begun on campus.
I’d like to share updates on the ongoing ministry for this semester, along with some prayer requests :)

The tabling ministry is an outreach that happens at the beginning of the semester, where we invite freshmen and other newcomers to our club orientation.
Each year, we host a KBBQ event on various campuses as part of our club orientation, providing food as a way to connect with students.
Inviting students requires a lot of dedication and effort. Starting three days before the orientation, we spend 4-5 hours each day on campus handing out flyers to promote the event. Thankfully, some students have volunteered to join the leadership team, committing to serve in this campus ministry.
Physically, it was quite challenging. Especially with UGA being over two hours away from my home, the travel wasn't easy. However, my husband has volunteered as a new volunteer staff member this semester, helping with driving and other tasks, which allowed us to manage everything smoothly. In a previous prayer letter, I asked for a fellow staff member in Atlanta, and it seems God has answered that prayer :)
KBBQ Orientations
Every year, many students attend this club's orientation at Georgia Tech. We serve food to a large number of students, but there are limitations in manpower and budget. Thankfully, with the support of members from Crystal Korean Church, we were able to provide meals for over 300 students, and they also helped us with our ministry.
Thanks to the partnership of local church members, the dedication of the campus leaders, the hard work of the students from STINT (Short-Term International), and the commitment of the staff, we were able to successfully wrap up the new semester's ministry across four campuses. Above all, I am deeply grateful for the prayers of our fellow ministry partners who faithfully supported us through prayer, amidst both big and small spiritual battles and challenges. This has reminded me once again that God's mission is not something we do alone.
2. God's Training
Leadership training (lecture, Prayer)
This semester marked my first time serving full-time, and I’ve been able to restore and create new gatherings that had previously stagnated. Among them, we have established a regular weekly meeting for campus leaders, where we hold prayer meetings. We pray for our small group members, for our small groups, and for the campus and community. Through these times of prayer, we are discovering God’s love for this campus.
I’ve also developed a curriculum for leadership training to equip the student leaders involved in this campus ministry. We’ve been holding seminars and training sessions to help them live out the role of a small group leader. Please pray that the student leaders will faithfully embrace the training, and that they will joyfully carry out the ministry entrusted to them.
Qt meeting
This semester, we are rebuilding the QT (Quiet Time) meetings. Previously, participation of the students in the QT meetings was very low. Instead of being led by the students, STINTers (short-term international missionaries) often led or participated, and there were times when only STINTers attended.
When I spoke to the small group leaders about taking the initiative to lead the campus QT meetings, they responded, "We’re not ready yet." There was a passive attitude in their hearts, hoping that the well-trained STINT small group leaders from Korea would take responsibility for the ministry.
For Georgia Tech students, especially known for their demanding academic schedules, it is not easy to dedicate their time and energy to the Word and prayer. Many students often sacrifice sleep and are overwhelmed by studying and assignments. I understand their situation on a human level. However, as I saw them living in their own strength without the Word and prayer, with their priorities reversed, and being spiritually dry while caught up in time and tasks, I felt compelled by God to exhort them for the first time.
Since these students have rarely experienced spiritual exhortation, some expressed discomfort at being encouraged by the new staff member. However, as I prayed for them and wrestled through these struggles, the students began to change. They started taking the initiative to lead the campus QT meetings and, despite having little experience praying for more than 10 minutes for someone else, began to participate in leader meetings where they prayed together. Gradually, they began to display a desire to obey in faith.
By God's grace, their complaints and dissatisfaction were transformed into obedience. I exhort them because I love them. Please pray that I may continue to embrace God's heart for these students—a heart that does not leave them alone but has compassion on them. May I continue to care for them, pray for them, exhort them, and love them faithfully, without giving up.
Campus worship - Large group
I am working to rebuild campus worship. While the large group has primarily focused on fellowship, I hope it will now become a time for worship on campus, and I am praying that this works out well. I have taken on the role of preparing and proclaiming the Word.
However, in this process, I am also experiencing God's training. It's been about two months since I officially started my ministry. In the first week, I diligently prepared the Word for the large group worship, spending several days on it. I created PowerPoint slides and prepared a short video to show the students, practicing my message in English to the best of my ability. But when it was time to deliver the message, the classroom projector suddenly broke down, and I was unable to use the prepared PPT and video. In that moment, it felt as though all my preparation had gone to waste.
Through this situation, God conveyed to me the message to "let go of your strength." In the world, more effort and energy often lead to successful outcomes, but in God’s ministry, it seems that His unique way is to reveal His power and ability when we relinquish our own strength. Thus, in obedience to God's way, I relied more on Him and prayed as I prepared the message for the second week of campus worship.
While preparing the message for the second week, I felt a deep sense of peace, unlike the first week. In the first week, I was anxious and restless during the preparation process, to the point that I couldn't even eat properly and ended up feeling unwell (it seems my desire to do well took precedence). However, in the second week, there was a sense of tranquility throughout the process, and I experienced the Holy Spirit's power accompanying me as I delivered the message. It was even surprising how naturally my English flowed, and I could clearly sense that I was proclaiming the Word not in my own strength but through the power of the Holy Spirit.
In ministry, I see that God is not only training the students but also training and growing my spiritual life as well.
I hope to continue living a missionary life where I grow alongside the students and humbly learn together.
Small group
This semester, I have been assigned to focus on the small group meetings for the small group leaders. Specifically, I will be leading the small group meetings for the female student leaders. Through these Bible studies and life sharings, students will grow spiritually. Please pray that we can build up these precious souls with God’s love.
Starting next week, I also plan to hold small group meetings for the senior students before the Friday Gethsemane worship. I believe senior students, who are at a critical point as they approach graduation and prepare to enter the society, are the ones who need the most care. Please pray that I can lead this first senior small group meeting with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Above all, I ask for your prayers that these students will be real followers of Jesus who do not compromise their faith when they enter the workforce.
3. Faith and Obedience
Personally, there have been several changes in my family. My husband quit his job this summer and is currently in the process of searching for a new one. During this time, he has been helping me as a volunteer staff member in ministry. He has long had a desire to live for the gospel, and through helping with campus ministry, he has found deep happiness in building up people’s lives. The ministry in Atlanta has brought about fatigue from long drives and physical exhaustion from handling numerous tasks. At first, my husband, who is healthier than I am, even had a nosebleed and fell ill. However, as he experienced living 100% for God for the first time after years of living for other things, his desire to live for the gospel has solidified.
In the midst of this, my husband received a job offer from a company located far from Atlanta but with good conditions, including a high salary. After pondering for a few days, he decided to decline the offer, as while the job was where people called him, Atlanta was where God called me (his wife).
It was not an easy decision, but I found myself in a situation where I had no choice but to obey. I cannot stop my ministry at this time. Shortly after, my husband’s desire to live for the gospel became more concrete as he felt called to pursue full-time staff (ministry), leading him to consider taking part in the GCTC staff training next year. While I felt proud of his decision, I also experienced concerns about how I would manage financially since I had relied on him for support. I do not currently have the means to pay next month's rent (I am currently earning a salary of $1500, while the rent exceeds $1700. In the U.S., even a one-bedroom apartment has very high rent).
I want to fully believe and experience that the financial realm also belongs to God. Please pray that our decision to walk the path of being a ministry couple will not be hindered by financial concerns. Pray that my faith will not waver due to these practical worries and that my desire to obey will not scatter. However, no matter what choices we make, please pray that we can become a family that lives for God.
Please pray that I may live a life not for what is temporary, but for what is eternal.
Let's pray together
Open the eyes of my heart.
-Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! Get on your feet! He is calling you.
-Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.
-"What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see."
-"Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight
and followed Jesus along the road.
- Please pray that my spiritual eyes may be opened to see what is truly valuable in life at every moment.
- Please pray that there will be new fellow partners who genuinely want to be part of this ministry.
- I believe that the financial realm is also under God's control, so please pray that I may experience His provision.
- Please pray that I may be able to obey with faith to the heart that God has given me.
- Please pray that I may be filled with the Holy Spirit to carry out all aspects of the ministry.
- Please pray for strength and health, as I am physically weak.
- Remember that this is a place of love, and pray that the Soon Movement may become a community of love.
- Please pray that my parents in Korea may come to believe in God and find hope.
Please become a missionary who sends.
